After breakfast at the Radisson, you depart Nairobi to officially start your 4×4 road safari in Kenya. Take in the wonderful scenery as you travel north with your expert driver/guide.
You notice that the further north you travel, the drier and hillier the landscape becomes as the area doesn’t benefit as much from the rains received by the south-west of Kenya. But as you enter the traditional homeland of the Samburu people, Kenya’s vast semi-deserts give way to thick acacia and beautiful doum palm forests. You’ve arrived at Elephant Bedroom Camp, an authentic safari lodge on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro, northern Kenya’s biggest and least seasonal river.
This intimate camp has spacious tented suites that are built on stilts and overlook the river. It offers a comfortable setting, along with plunge pools on private patios. During your stay, you explore the gorgeous reserve on game drives, discovering its plentiful wildlife like elephant, lion, leopard, and the stars of the area: the Samburu Special 5 (gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich and beisa oryx).
