Overview

One Bedroom Villa

Baraza’s lavish accommodation epitomises class and luxury. Highlighting the beauty of Zanzibar’s timeless style, the 14 one-bedroom villas incorporate key designs of classic Swahili architecture. Dramatic arches, comfortable baraza benches and intricate hand-carved cement décor are all key features in each room.

The 148 square metre space features a master bedroom with en suite and walk-in closet, a living room with two daybeds and minibar area. There is also a large terrace that leads out to a plunge pool, complete with two sun loungers ideal for tanning poolside. All quarters feature luxury interiors, beautiful fabrics, hand-carved furniture and brass lanterns that accentuate the opulent nature of your getaway.

Facilities

Baraza Resort and Spa has its own water sports centre situated on the beachfront. Wander down to The Water Club and choose from low tide activities such as power-kiting or snorkelling or high tide activities such as kite-surfing and kayaking.

Scuba diving is also on offer, as is access to putting greens. Frangipani Spa offers a blissful retreat away from the outside world with a lap pool playing soothing underwater music, indoor and outdoor relaxation rooms, a Sultan bath as well as a yoga and fitness centre and a tennis court.

Children between 4 and 12 will enjoy the professionally run Baraza Kids Club with its long list of activities and facilities. Babysitting services can also easily be arranged, allowing parents with young children the chance to get a bit of holiday time for themselves.

Dining

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in your stay at the Baraza Resort & Spa. The resort has a number of restaurants as well as a popular pool bar which is open for drinks and snacks. The Livingstone Terrace is an open-air restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner while the Ocean Lounge Bar and Restaurant – boasting a tandoori oven, salad bar and pizza oven – offers buffet dining with a selection of light dishes and daily specials. Buffet and table d’hote are available on alternate nights in the Sultans Dining Room. Before or after dinner, unwind and order a cocktail in the cosy Dhahab Bar & Lounge.
